Information for DSS applicants.
DSS
applicants may be considered if able to offer a guarantor - email
here to tell us about yourself.
What
is a Guarantor?
We do consider DSS applicants but a willing and
able guarantor must be offered.
The guarantor must be a UK homeowner,
be in full time work and be fully aware
of the commitment to pay the rent it
the money fails to arrive from the local authority for any reason.
The owners we act for require a willing &
able guarantor (UK home owner in full time work) to underpin payments
on the due dates. If the rental money fails to arrive on the first
of each month, we ring the guarantor and take it from their bank
account. The guarantor is integral to the tenancy agreement. The
cash flow route via credit unions is a good move, we recommend
you open an account with Leeds
Credit Union
The deposit is usually 25 - 30% greater than one
months rent of the property applied for.
There is a one-off charge equivalent to one weeks
rent payable to Intercity to undertake the tenancy agreement between
the tenant and the landlord. This charge is sometimes called an
`Admin` or `Contract` charge.
Please view Intercity
Accommodation daily for availability and call 0113 2302303
if you wish to view a rental property.
